Whidbey Island Retreat

for Women Exploring Change

Uninterrupted time to explore change and design the next chapter of your life.

Coupeville, Washington
September 30 - October 5, 2026

Set on the Puget Sound with views of the Olympic and North Cascades Mountain Ranges, Mt. Baker, and Mt. Rainer.

Our Whidbey Island retreat is an exploratory immersion that provides uninterrupted time and space to step away from the day-to-day and focus on what’s next in your life. The pace is unhurried. The group is intentionally small. And the five-day experience is guided by professional strategist and Salt+Grit founder, Jennifer Trezza. Your exploration and personal insights will inform the direction and solutions you personally design for the change you need.

You are aligned with this retreat.

Your next chapter deserves the same strategic rigor you have given everything and everyone else. This is the perfect retreat for you if you’re a woman craving change, and want dedicated time and guided strategy support to design what’s next. You want small group engagement, an unhurried pace, and professional facilitation rooted in innovation strategy. You want a clear framework to identify insights and the tools to explore unconventional options. You want to depart with a grounded sense of direction, accountability, and continued support for successful implementation.

The Salt+Grit Experience.

Jennifer guides the full experience with care and presence, meeting guests where they are in both their personal and professional lives. Her approach combines empathy with clarity, challenging questions, and structured reflection. She earned a MS in Strategic Design and Global Leadership and holds certifications in Outsmarting Implicit Bias and Leader as Coach. The entire Salt+Grit team is highly credentialed while embodying a gentle, empathetic approach supporting our guests.

Our framework.

Your Host

Jennifer Trezza
Salt+Grit Founder + Lead Strategist

Jennifer Trezza has spent 20 years designing strategy for organizations navigating their most complex moments of change—from small nonprofits to global corporations, from humanitarian aid initiatives to leadership transformations. She doesn't just teach about designing roads less traveled.
During the pandemic, Jennifer designed her own path forward when conventional approaches weren’t working. As she sought volunteer opportunities to no avail, she quickly realized she didn’t need permission to help others. So, she charted a cross-country route, packed up her car, and drove alone to the US-Mexico border seeking to help anyone negatively impacted by immigration policies. She soon lived alongside refugees, and provided pro-bono strategy to organizations supporting vulnerable families in crisis.

This is a reflection of the depth of her commitment—to people, to change, to doing hard things with rigor and heart. She brings this same level of care to every retreat. Her methodology is human-centered design applied to you. Trained to solve for the right problems rather than the assumed ones, Jennifer asks the questions that reach past your prepared answers and into the actual architecture of your life. She finds the patterns you don’t likely see because you’re too close to yourself. She identifies what you have been building all along without fully realizing it. And from the foundation of honest, specific, entirely true to you, she helps you design the change needed for what comes next.

Your Accommodations

Salt+Grit secured a full buyout of the historic lodge accommodations. Our guests will have sole access to the upstairs guest rooms, cozy gathering nooks, and amenities.

“Standing stalwart as if a ship run aground, the historic lodge is the heart of Captain Whidbey — its stone fireplace the gathering place of the grounds and the center from which all warmth of Captain Whidbey radiates. The coveted and cozy Historic Lodge rooms take on the air of a secret clubhouse up above the ship’s fray. Virtually unchanged from 1907, the traditions too remain. Shared bathrooms, creaky floorboards and the occasional glass clinking from the tavern below. The rooms are rustic, for our most adventurous guests, with views of Penn Cove or our exquisite flower garden. The Historic Lodge is older than any human being on Earth. Respect her. Amenities include intimate lounging, herbal sleep aids and a curated library of inspirational and classic sea tales, useful local guides and the best of Whidbey Island history.” - Captain Whidbey Lodge
